I have a treat for you today! You get to work out with two incredibly motivating fitness experts with type 1 diabetes, Mark Hewlett and Mike Marcotte (or Mikey Marks as they would be called if they were a 90’s boy band 😀 ).
Mark and Mikey will take you through a functional strength and cardio workout from their fitness studio F45 in Los Angeles.
This workout is a little tougher that my regular home workouts. If it’s too much for you, do a home cardio workout from my workout library instead.

Mark Hewlett is a swimmer, rugby player and Fitness model with type 1 diabetes. He was also the 2003 Fear Factor Grand Champion and he uses his media presence to motivate and inspire people living with diabetes through fitness and healthy living.
Mark has found that functional training has had an incredible impact on his diabetes management, causing a marked decrease in his insulin needs. To share his knowledge of fitness and diabetes, Mark has opened three Functional 45 (F45) fitness studios in Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

Mike (Mikey) Marcotte was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when he was 15 years old. Like most people, he found it a challenge to adjust to living with diabetes, but through his passion for fitness, he was able to better control his diabetes and live a healthier more balanced life.
Mikey is a celebrity trainer, fitness instructor, and mentor to many T1D individuals. His training style revolves around HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) and functional exercises, creating healthy and HAPPY bodies for his clients.
